Foster
We are always looking for new foster homes for our animals as they wait for their forever homes. Fostering helps our animals shine. We feel that it is best that an animal be in a home environment where they can feel safe and loved, just like they will when they find their forever family! Fostering also helps animals get exposure to new people, places, and things. We will work with you to find an animal that fits your lifestyle. Turtle Pants Farm provides everything that you foster will need including food, preventatives, toys, collars, bowls, and vet care - you just provide the love! Please note that foster homes must be within 50 miles driving distance of Pittsboro NC, and foster homes should have the ability to assist with moving their foster animals to and from the farm.
Volunteer
Boots on the ground support is always in high demand at Turtle Pants Farm – on-site and off. There is not a “typical” volunteering experience, rather, our volunteers tend to make their own way to find where they are most comfortable. The projects change as the needs of the animals and farm do, as well as special skills or talents our volunteers bring to the table! Please read below about some of the opportunities to volunteer with TPF.
In person volunteering: Assisting with meet and greets, scrubbing and refreshing crates and stalls, laundry, unloading and storing feed, repairing or installing fencing, feeding the chickens, weeding, mulching, trimming shrubs, painting, cleaning, clearing brush, planting trees, and mailing fundraising letters.

Remote Volunteering: Website and social media content creation, working as adoption counselors, conducting home visits for potential adopters, coordinating virtual fundraisers, graphic design, as well as assessing animals in shelters, or assisting with transports.
Transport
We always need help with picking up supplies and donations from various locations, transporting animals to the vet or from the shelter to foster homes. We occasionally need long-haul transporters for out of state animals that may come into our care.
