Why shouldn’t I adopt more than one puppy at the same time? What is “Littermate Syndrome”?
One question we get asked a lot is about adopting two puppies at the same time. Twice the adorable! Twice the fun! Get all the hard work over at once!
Our answer is always no - and here are some resources that explain why. While the term itself is debatable, Littermate Syndrome, or raising two similar aged puppies, whether from the same litter or not, is just not advised. It often leads to bonding issues and depending on each other and forming their own coalition, being fearful, becoming aggressive - there are lots of reasons not to do it.
