All About Cwn

Sweet Hound Alert! This is Cwn (pronounced “Quinn). She is a petite girl with the sweetest face (all the time), laid-back chill (when she wants to), with the cutest quirky personality. She came into rescue back in November of 2022 from an Eastern NC shelter where she was found with two of her pack mates and wearing a hunter-type GPS collar. Her name, Cwn, translates to “hound”, and in Welsh mythology, they are the spectral hounds of the otherworld. Stay with me here, it's the perfect name for her and Cwn would make her ancestral name proud because she can “scream” like a Welsh banshee! But oh, is it entertaining!

Cwn is pretty much house trained and will sometimes use her crate (when she wants to). She goes in and curls up and stays just fine, until she wants to come out. Otherwise… banshee. And persistent banshee (but still cute). Cwn also loves to escape fences. She's like a tiny (cute) mouse, who can slither through openings you may not have even noticed, climb vertical surfaces, or dig if neither work (we're happy to share what we've found that DOES work for her). She is really getting close with housetraining, but if you miss a signal, she just goes with it. She's flexible!

If you've made it this far, you're either still in contention or a glutton for punishment. We can work with both. This is good news because, y'all, she's worth it. She's like a little kid you want to simultaneously hug as hard as you can and send to their room. She is truly worth it. She is compliant, charming, adorable, has not one mean bone in her body, loves to snuggle, seeks out folks for love, eats in the daintiest way, loves toys but doesn't destroy stuff, gathers toys and treasures and takes them into her crate, loves kids, loves other dogs, likes cats, basically gets along with everyone. She's also ok out and about in the house for the most part. She sleeps in her foster parents’ bedroom on a dog bed quietly through the night. She'd be great for folks without a fence or folks who love to walk dogs. Folks who are retired or folks who work from home. Cwn is currently on a couple very inexpensive medications that she will likely need to take for at least the foreseeable future. She also had surgery in March to repair a ligament in her knee. Her recent checkup shows that all is well now. She is spayed, vaccinated, and up to date on shots. Though she be but little, she is fierce (-ly hound like, which is an amazing thing to behold).
